7 hurt in grenade explosion in Sultan Kudarat

Seven civilians were wounded in a grenade explosion in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, Saturday evening.

According to Tacurong City police office, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at the Kayla Bulalohan restaurant beside a carnival along the Alunan national highway at 7:15 pm.

According to the Philippine Army, among those injured were: Joylyn Francisco, 19; Rio Delgado, 27; Janice Atanoso, 23; Alma Macabodbod, 55; Nasser Mangenyog, 24.

They were brought to hospitals in Tacurong City.

Most of the injured were hit by shrapnel on their legs while another was hurt on the head.

Two of the injured were residents of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat while five were Tacurong city residents.

Tacurong City police and the military are still investigating which group could be involved in the incident.
